Rev. Franklyn J. Ward

Senior Pastor

“Pastor Rusty” is senior pastor at Timberlake. He is an ordained clergy member and has served as a Chaplain and Crisis Counselor. He holds an M.Div. in Theology, a B.A. in Chaplaincy, and a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He is also a retired police executive with a background in personal and professional leadership and organizational procedures. He has served as a Member and Advisor to Local, Regional and State Boards and Agencies in the fields of Mental Health, Substance Addiction, Domestic Violence, and Juvenile Matters. Pastor Rusty and his wife, Christine, have six children and eleven grandchildren.

Pastor, Mike Whitworth

Director of Families

Pastor Mike currently serves as Director of Families at Timberlake Baptist Church, Area Coordinator for Operation Christmas Child Coastal North in Myrtle Beach and an Ordained IFOC Chaplain with Carolina Coastal Chaplains Corp. He attended Florida State University on an athletic scholarship prior to moving to Maryland to teach and receive his master’s degree at Johns Hopkins. Pastor Mike has also worked as a safety officer and emergency responder. Mike has lived in the Myrtle Beach area since 2017.

Derwin Porter

Director of Administration

Derwin serves as Director of Administration at Timberlake. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Donna, of 43 years. He grew up in the Charlotte area and Surfside beach was a second home for his family. Derwin and his wife are blessed with three children and seven grandchildren. They retired and moved to Murrells Inlet in 2019.
